What TubeSnaps processes
When you paste a YouTube URL or video ID, TubeSnaps parses the input in your browser and generates known public thumbnail image candidates. The tool may load public image URLs from YouTube image hosts so your browser can check whether common thumbnail candidates are available.
The current version does not require a TubeSnaps account, Google login, YouTube OAuth permission, channel connection, or server-side video processing.
- YouTube video URLs or 11-character video IDs that you type into the page.
- Public thumbnail image candidates generated from the detected video ID.
- Browser-side result states such as available, unavailable, or placeholder suspected.
What TubeSnaps does not store
TubeSnaps does not need to save full YouTube URLs, downloaded files, Google account data, channel credentials, or private YouTube information for the current browser-first tool workflow.
If future analytics records a video identifier for product diagnostics, it should be minimized, hashed, or aggregated before being sent to a provider.
- No YouTube OAuth tokens are requested.
- No YouTube videos are downloaded or stored by TubeSnaps.
- No server-side thumbnail library is created in the current static version.
TubeSnaps Chrome Extension
The TubeSnaps Chrome extension processes the current frame from a YouTube video or Short locally in your browser when you explicitly request a capture. The captured frame is used only to create a PNG image that you can save to your device or copy to the clipboard.
The extension does not upload or retain screenshots, read clipboard contents, collect browsing history, or transmit YouTube URLs, video IDs, video titles, timestamps, or usage events to TubeSnaps or third parties.
Chrome extension version 1.0.0 does not use analytics, telemetry, advertising, affiliate tracking, crash-reporting services, remote code, user accounts, or persistent extension storage.
- Clipboard writing occurs only after you explicitly choose the Copy action.
- The extension uses the activeTab permission only in connection with a user-requested capture action.
- The extension uses an offscreen document for local browser image-processing operations that are not available directly in the Manifest V3 service worker.
- Extension host access is limited to https://www.youtube.com/* so TubeSnaps can detect the active YouTube player and perform the screenshot action requested by the user.
- TubeSnaps does not sell or share data processed by the Chrome extension.
Analytics, ads, and affiliate links
The TubeSnaps website currently includes placeholder components for analytics, advertising, and affiliate links. These services are not active in Chrome extension version 1.0.0. Before any real provider is enabled on the website, this policy should be updated with the provider name, cookie behavior, data processed, retention period, and available opt-out controls.
If advertising or affiliate programs are added, sponsored links or partner relationships should be disclosed where they appear.
Third-party content and links
Thumbnail images may be loaded from YouTube image hosts such as img.youtube.com. Opening a YouTube, image, documentation, or affiliate link may send you to a third-party website governed by its own policies.
TubeSnaps does not control third-party sites, other browser extensions, or network tools that may be active in your own browser.

This privacy policy is a general product policy for the first public version of TubeSnaps and is not legal advice. It should be updated when the product adds accounts, uploads, server-side APIs, analytics providers, advertising providers, affiliate partners, or paid services.
